Neuroscience 2017. Drugs repositioning for neurodegenerative disorders
The drug development process consumes significant amounts of time and resources. Whether an initial project’s primary goal was achieved or not, documented findings can still potentially contribute to future discoveries. Luckily, vast amounts of knowledge are produced in the form of lab notebooks, grant applications, research papers, and clinical studies reports.
To make the most from the immense amount of global research communication we created sci.AI platform. The idea is to make all the open access (OA) papers machine readable, create a useful knowledge graph, and define drugs to be repositioned based on the resulting connections found.
Due to economic and time pressures in de novo drug development, drug repositioning is a particularly valuable way of carrying out discovery.
